Work Outlook (Updated 3/10/2023)
Fusion Battery Plant- This is a $3 billion joint venture between Stellantis and Samsung in Kokomo. It is all new construction and will be working under the National Maintenance Agreement. The job is expected to work 6-10s and should start ramping up in April/May of 2023. The project is expected to peak summer 2023 - fall 2024 with a need of 500 - 600 electricians. OSHA 10 is required for this job. There is currently no per diem being offered.
Hardy Hills Solar Project- This is a 200 megawatt solar field that is currently under construction in Clinton County. A tentative schedule has them hiring starting the end of March and adding approx 150 through mid June. The job is currently working a 5-8s schedule, but is expected to work overtime as the weather breaks. There is currently no per diem being offered.
GM Marion- This is a $500 million upgrade that will include 2 new press lines, complete press and die upgrades, and a 6,000 sq ft addition at the GM plant in Marion. Demolition and structural upgrades are currently being worked on to accommodate the new presses. This job is expected to hire a few to work 7-10s (April - June). They are also expected to hire 30-40 (mid June - mid September) working 2 shifts of 6-10s.
Stellantis Facilities (3 Plants in Kokomo)- This is a $155 million investment to produce new electric drive modules at the Kokomo facilities. We expect bids to be released soon with work starting summer/fall 2023.
