Officers
President: Patrick Julian
- Acts as the head of the veterans' organization.
- Represents the veterans' group in meetings, both within the IBEW Local and externally.
- Presides over all organizational meetings and ensures all initiatives align with the group's mission and goals.
- Oversees the overall function and progress of the organization.
Vice President: Joel Bolen
- Assists the President in leadership duties and steps in during their absence.
- Helps manage the veterans' organization's programs and projects.
- Takes an active role in representing the veterans' group within IBEW and maintaining engagement with members.
Secretary:
- Responsible for record-keeping, including meeting minutes, documentation, and correspondence.
- Maintains communication with members of the veteran organization, distributing updates and information as needed.o
- Organizes and files all documentation related to meetings, initiatives, and outreach efforts.
Treasurer:
- Manages the finances of the veteran organization, including membership dues (if applicable), donations, and budgeting for activities or events.
- Ensures transparency and accurate reporting of financial matters, providing regular updates to the executive committee and members.
Committees
Outreach and Membership Committee:
- Purpose: To recruit new members and promote the organization within the IBEW Local and veteran communities.
- Responsibilities: Develop membership drives, ensure that veterans within the IBEW are aware of the group's activities, and maintain up-to-date membership records.
Events and Activities Committee:
- Purpose: To organize social and professional development events for veteran members.
- Responsibilities: Plan community events, networking opportunities, and outreach initiatives to engage veteran members and their families.
Education and Training Committee:
- Purpose: To assist veterans with job training, career development, and educational opportunities within the union.
- Responsibilities: Coordinate with the IBEW Local's training department to provide veterans with access to apprenticeships, certifications, and continuing education programs.
Veteran Support and Advocacy Committee:
- Purpose: To provide resources, support, and advocacy for veterans facing challenges such as mental health issues, housing, and transitioning from military to civilian careers.
- Responsibilities: Establish partnerships with veteran support organizations and ensure that members have access to the benefits and resources they need.
General Members
- All veteran members of the IBEW Local are eligible to join the veteran organization.
- Members can participate in meetings, activities, and events and contribute ideas and feedback to the executive committee.
- Veterans have the opportunity to serve on the various committees based on their interests and skills.
Advisory Board (Optional)
- Includes veteran leaders or elder members of the IBEW Local who offer guidance and advice to the leadership team.
- May consist of previous Local officers who are veterans or individuals with experience running nonprofit organizations or veteran groups.
Meetings and Communication
- Monthly/Quarterly Meetings: The organization should hold regular meetings, allowing members to provide input, discuss upcoming events, and vote on initiatives.
- Regular Communication: Use newsletters, emails, or social media to keep members informed about events, opportunities, and important news related to veterans and the union.
